Overview

Kaonic 1S is Beechat's tactical software-defined radio: an embedded Linux node that carries a cryptographic mesh over dual-band AT86RF215 transceivers, with a local gateway for configuration, IP, voice, and C2 bridges.

What it is

• STM32MP1-class board running a custom OpenSTLinux (Yocto) image
• Two AT86RF215 radios (sub-GHz and 2.4 GHz capable)
• kaonic-commd owning the radios
• Reticulum (Rust) as the mesh data plane
• kaonic-gateway as the operator dashboard, VPN, and plugin host

It is designed to run without towers, cellular infrastructure, or a central server. GPS is not required for mesh routing.
